Thursday, Jun 11 2009Illinois Legislature Approves $500M Hospital Tax To Increase Federal Matching Funds for MedicaidIllinois lawmakers on Friday approved a collective $500 million tax increase for the state s 200 hospitals in a plan that would increase federal matching funds for the state s Medicaid program, the Washington Post reports yeezy Washington Post, 11/23 . Under the plan, hospitals would pay a per-bed tax to the state; the state would then use the extra funds in its Medicaid program to draw additional federal matching funds. According to state Sen.
